Quick Update

She thought so hard trying to help Dad with his
homework she knocked herself right out!
Emeri's first BYU baseball game
Ephraim's first BYU Baseball game.
He's now attended BYU baseball, basketball, football, and volleyball.
He's such a good fan!
Ephraim horrified at his first face to face encounter with Cosmo. I just hope it doesn't place a scar on his BYU allegiance.

Preface: This entry is a bit "journal-esque" cause I finished my last journal and have yet to purchase a new one. So my apologies if it seems lame.

So life is at the teetering point. Change is just around the corner and who knows what it will bring. I sure don't. Wish I did. But by the end of this month we should be decided as a family if we're moving to Portland for a job or if we end up taking another opportunity. So I just thought it wise to record where we are at as a family for memory sake.

Emeri is an angel child. Mom hasn't been very on top of progressing her feeding schedule with her age, so she still is waking up in the night to be fed. Which is a shame cause she was sleeping 7hrs with out a feeding pretty regularly a month or so ago. Shame on me. But we're working on it and Emeri is being very patient with her mom, and Mom is trying her darndest to do the same with Emeri. Just proof that each generation can and should be better than the last.

Emeri will be 4 months in a little over a week, and then we get to start solid foods. Ok so I was a little anxious and actually tried some rice cereal just yesterday, but I'm guessing MAYBE a teaspoon actually descended her esophagus. So we've got a ways to go. She is super good at holding her head up though and loves to sit in Ephriam's bumbo. Which he has mixed feelings about. Tummy time still seems like a punishment to her, but I promise its not. I'm sure once Grandma Taylor gets to Utah Emeri will be subjected to much more tummy time than her mother can bare to leave her in.

Ephraim is so grown up. And yet such a child. He is doing really well at trying to mimic words Adam or I say. His vocab is definitely up to 20 or so words. Granted there are a few that all fit together into one pronunciation. Such as keys, cheese, keish, and please all basically sound like cheese. And unless he's standing at the fridge I usually don't know whether he's saying shoes or juice.

He's a really good big brother. He is full of head bonking kisses for his little sister, and the other day I grabbed his foot and held it up to her and took her hand and pretended to tickle his foot. And he was loving it, and kept coming back for more. So I'm sure they'll be good friends. At this point Ephraim is beginning to grow out of his scowls, and silly squints when we try to offer him something other than what he really wants. He is very proficient with the keys and is always anxious to help Mommy unlock the Laundry room door, and can do the whole thing by himself.

Roughly a month ago he climbed out of his crib for the first time. That was a heart dropping suprise. So we gave it a couple of days with the front off, letting him feel like a big boy and telling him to stay in his bed for naps and night time..... Well that didn't work so hot. He got out and would either cry and knock on the door, or entertain himself with his toys for up to an hour before falling asleep on the floor. But it wasn't until Mom heard suspicious noises and entered to find him opening the tool box that I decided there had to be another way. So I rotated his crib around since the back side is higher, and now he is contained once again! Ahhhhhhh, relief..... for now.

Adam has been working hard in school. And took a golf class this semester. He's been really good at sharing all the tips and techniques he's learning. In fact while home in Pocatello for the holiday weekend we went down to the park and hit balls around with his Dad and brother. And when we got home that night I couldn't find my phone. PANIC. The field was the last place I had used it and I was scared it had fallen out of my pocket. Well thanks to faith and prayers and Sprint GPS family locater we discovered that it was at the park, but when we figured that out it was midnight. And the sprinklers were already drenching the field. So early in the morning the next day we man swept the field standing shoulder to shoulder and thanks to the Lord's tender mercies we found my phone, and after drying it out in a bag of rice, it worked perfectly.

A small thing, but in reality a huge miracle and blessing. AKA that field was HUGE and the grass was long, and a replacement phone would have been $100 bones!

So I hope someday my kids can read this experience of their mother, and know that she knows that God answers prayers. Even the small eternally insignificant ones.

As for what I've been up to besides the regular diaper changes, dirty dishes, laundry, and making meals. I made Emeri a new blanket. First ever off the Jessica production line. And its quite cute if I do say so myself.

So does that mean I know how to sew you ask? Well if knowing how to sew means I can cut squares of fabric together and sew them together with straight lines, then yes, but anything past that...fat chance.

K well my Saturday is running away from me, so I best be off and running with it.
